Paradies Lagardère Expands MishiPay’s Scan, Pay & Go Technology To 20 Additional Airports

ATLANTA, November 23, 2021 – Paradies Lagardère, the award-winning airport retailer and restaurateur in North America, has expanded its deployment of MishiPay’s award-winning Scan, Pay & Go mobile self-checkout technology to 20 additional airports across the United States and Canada.

During the successful pilot in the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport and the Charlotte Douglas International Airport, Paradies Lagardère saw the clear impact of MishiPay’s technology: by enabling shoppers to scan and pay for their desired products using their own devices, store associates were able to repurpose a portion of their shift from manning a cash register to other valuable tasks such as restocking, sanitizing high traffic sections, and assisting customers. This result has delivered great value during a time when staffing continues to be a significant challenge in the overall retail sector.

Additionally, the Scan, Pay & Go program provides another convenient payment option for customers, complementing existing choices such as self-checkout stations and Fast Pay apps, and has also generated a higher items-per-transaction ratio when compared to transactions performed through standard registers. The technology has been loved by customers, too, with an average satisfaction rating of 4.85 out of 5, with over 90% of shoppers making a purchase when they have opened the app, which does not require a download.

MishiPay’s Scan, Pay & Go technology is entirely contactless and frictionless and requires no additional infrastructure to capture customer engagement and sales. Using their own mobile devices, travelers simply select the items they want, scan the barcodes, and pay and go - without the need to interact with staff or waste time standing in line at a register.

“We have been delighted with the results that the Scan, Pay & Go program has delivered in our stores, both in terms of reducing friction for our customers and enabling our store associates to operate with optimal efficiency,” said Gregg Paradies, President and CEO for Paradies Lagardère. “As we expand the deployment into phase two and beyond, we are excited to bring the benefits of the technology to even more of our airport partners and customers across North America.”

MishiPay founder and CEO Mustafa Khanwala said: “Our results demonstrate the power of our technology to remove the archaic bottleneck of checkout friction. As air travel continues to bounce back following the pandemic, we are excited to expand our deployment with Paradies Lagardère and to remove the frustration of waiting in line for even more shoppers.”
