Paradies Lagardère Delivers MOD Pizza to Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport

The original superfast pizza experience offers up customizable, artisan-style pizzas and salads to busy travelers

ATLANTA – Paradies Lagardère, a leader in the travel retail and restaurateur industry in North America, and the Wayne County Airport Authority (WCAA), operator of Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport, are excited to announce that MOD Pizza is open and ready to serve hungry travelers in the North Terminal. The Paradies Lagardère Dining Division, a true restaurateur, is passionate about connecting with travelers through inspiring design, delicious, top-notch culinary offerings, fun brands such as MOD Pizza, exceptional hospitality, and first-class customer service.

At MOD, travelers will be able to create their own individual artisan-style pizzas and salads, using a combination of over 30 toppings – any toppings for one amazing price. Pizzas are cooked within minutes, and salads are hand-tossed in front of the customer. MOD Pizza will also offer breakfast for early travelers, including The Red Eye, topped with egg, shredded cheddar cheese, bacon, green pepper and diced tomato, and The Layover, topped with egg, shredded mozzarella, mild sausage, sliced red onion, and fresh rosemary.

Additional details: Paradies Lagardère and the Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport sought a brand partner that would not only provide delicious food and excellent service, but supports both organizations’ sense of community and service through its own initiatives in the surrounding area. Paradies Lagardère has had long-standing partnerships with Make-A-Wish® and No Kid Hungry®, while the airport has participated in many community initiatives such as providing book bags for back to school to the surrounding communities, and organizations such as On Board with Autism, Mittens for Detroit, and the Silverliners Flight to the North Pole.

It’s these core values that make MOD Pizza the ideal brand partner. As a people-first, purpose led brand, MOD believes that business can do well, while also doing good. MOD offers employment opportunities to individuals that face barriers to employment, including individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, those formerly incarcerated, and disengaged youth. Since 2018, MOD has partnered with Generosity Feeds to provide over one million meals to help close the gap on childhood hunger. Throughout Michigan and the greater Detroit area, MOD’s franchise partner - TEAM Schostak Family Restaurants - supports local schools and a wide variety of charities in their local communities.

Quotes: “MOD Pizza has a strong fan base because of its delicious pizzas and salads, and its “people first” core values, working to make positive change in the communities they serve,” said Regynald Washington, president, Paradies Lagardère Dining Division. “Paradies Lagardere is excited to bring this brand to fans at Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport and introduce its “MODness” to a new group of customers.”

“We’re thrilled to be a part of the redevelopment at DTW, and to bring MOD to its many travelers,” said Scott Svenson, co-founder and CEO, MOD Pizza. “As we continue our expansion across the U.S., we look forward to introducing MOD in unique and compelling settings that allow us to share craveable, artisan-style pizzas, and our purpose-led, people first culture.”

“The opening of MOD Pizza in Detroit Metropolitan Airport’s North Terminal is a unique addition to our many dining options,” said Wayne County Airport Authority CEO Chad Newton. “Our customers can now select from dozens of ingredients to customize their fresh pizza and receive it within minutes. We are pleased to continue our partnership with the Paradies Lagardère Dining Division, who shares our commitment to providing the best possible customer experience to all of our visitors.”
