Paradies Joins the Effort to Stop Childhood Hunger

Leading Airport Retailer Activates Annual Program for No Kid Hungry

Paradies, the nation’s leading concessionaire in airports, will launch its support for Share Our Strength’s No Kid Hungry® campaign this September by raising funds through two separate programs in its airport food and beverage operations.

Initially, Paradies will donate $1 for every coffee purchased from September 7-13 in any of its 30 restaurants, TravelMarts, coffee shops and markets across 12 different airports. An on-going promotion will also commence on September 7 in which 25 percent of every kid’s meal sold will be donated to the No Kid Hungry® program.

“Paradies is proud and excited to support such an important effort in No Kid Hungry,” said Bill Casey, senior vice president of Food and Beverage for Paradies. “With one in five children in America struggling with hunger, our team is enthusiastic about the chance to make a positive impact on this significant issue.”

Paradies dining locations coast-to-coast will participate in this program from Bar Symon at Pittsburgh International Airport, a partnership with celebrity chef Michael Symon, to local favorite McKenna’s at Long Beach Airport.  In addition, Paradies’ new restaurant openings, such as Denver International Airport’s Concourse C expansion, will include this program.  For a full list of Paradies’ venues involved in these philanthropic efforts, visit www.NoKidHungry.org or www.paradies-na.com/community.

In 2013, nearly 9,000 restaurants raised $7.5 million for the No Kid Hungry campaign. No Kid Hungry funds are used to raise awareness about child hunger in the U.S., create public-private partnerships that align kids with the resources they need, support nutrition programs like School Breakfast and Summer Meals, and educate kids and their families on how to cook healthy meals with limited resources.
